Energy Transition Lab: First Results of UDC–Resonac Alliance

The Interdisciplinary Center for Chemistry and Biology (CICA) at the University of A Coruña (UDC) now hosts the new space that will accelerate the implementation of technologies based on clean and renewable energy sources for energy storage and transformation. It will also drive the evolution of batteries used in electric vehicles through the research of materials such as graphite, an essential component of the anodes in batteries for these sustainable means of transport.

The facilities were inaugurated yesterday by UDC’s Rector, Ricardo Cao; the City Councillor for Education, Training and Technological Innovation, Juan Ignacio Borrego; the General Operations Director of Resonac Graphite Spain, Pablo Rifón; the Director of CICA, Jaime Rodríguez; and the Chair’s Director and Co-Director, Israel Temprano and Alba Tuñas, respectively.
